Where the Big Ten potentially sits in the playoff round

The college football schedule was full of chaos in Week 13. Several teams with hopes of making the College Football Playoff experienced upsets and lost their chances of making the 12-team playoffs.

However, Week 13 was mostly business as usual for the Big Ten.

The only game of note between CFP hopeful teams saw No. 2 Ohio State withstand an early score from No. 10 Indiana and beat the Hoosiers 38-15 in a game that wasn’t as close as the score suggested. But even that loss for the Hoosiers, ranked No. 5 in the CFP Top 25 in Week 13, was tempered by several college football upsets.

The Hoosiers have Oklahoma, Florida and Auburn to thank for that, each defeating a two-loss SEC team in Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Given those and other losses in Week 13, Indiana’s Saturday loss to the Buckeyes still stings, but doesn’t rule out their elimination from the 12-team playoffs.
