View the list of balloons and floats in the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The 98th edition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade begins Thursday.

The parade will take place in New York City, starting at 8:30 a.m. ET on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and ending at the Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square.

It will be chilly in New York during Thursday’s parade, with temperatures forecast to be around 40 degrees and winds around 10 miles per hour.

“This year’s 98th Macy’s Parade will inspire awe with unforgettable character balloons, unique floats and world-class entertainment that only Macy’s can provide,” said Will Coss, executive producer of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, in a statement.

This year’s parade is expected to feature 17 giant character balloons, 22 floats, 15 novelty and historic inflatables, 11 marching bands, 700 clowns and more. But who exactly will be at the parade?

What balloons are in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade?

While the annual parade will feature 17 character balloons and 15 traditional or novelty balloons, this year’s edition will feature six new balloons including:

Minnie Mouse
Extraordinary Noorah & The Elf on the Shelf
Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse
Goku from Dragon Ball
Marshall from PAW Patrol
Spider-Man

Returning balloons in this year’s parade include:

Beagle Scout Snoopy
Bluish
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Kung Fu Panda’s bottom
Monkey D Luffy
The Pillsbury Doughboy

What floats are in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade?

Just like the balloons, six new floats will make their first appearance this year:

“Candy Cosmos” by Haribo
“Dora’s Fantastic Rainforest” from Nickelodeon & Paramount
Disney Cruise Line’s Magic Meets the Seas
“Pasta Knight” by Rao’s Homemade
“Wednesday’s Feast” from Netflix
“Wondrous World of Wildlife” from the Bronx Zoo (The Bronx Zoo is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year)

McDonald’s Big Red Shoe Car
