Who let the dogs out again?

With more than 180 breeds on display, the National Dog Show begins Thursday, November 28th, following the Macy’s Day Parade.

The popular pet event was in its 23rd year on November 16, 2024 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. Nearly 2,000 dogs took part in the competition, all vying for the coveted title of “Best in Show.”

What is the National Dog Show?

The National Dog Show is hosted by the American Kennel Club, which sanctions the top dogs from across the country. Dogs from 205 breeds and varieties will compete in the Breed, Group and Best in Show categories.

The dog show itself is hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, which has held an annual competition since 1879.

The annual National Dog Show presented by Purina is a two-hour family entertainment special and the most-watched dog show in America. Viewers can tune in to NBC on Thanksgiving Day at 12 p.m., right after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
