While turkey is supposed to be the star of Thanksgiving, in most cases it’s the side dishes that make the holiday.

Who is the performer for the Cowboys Thanksgiving halftime show?

Lainey Wilson is the halftime performer for the Cowboys’ annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show on Thanksgiving in Dallas.

The team announced the decision in October, naming the 32-year-old Louisiana native this year’s entertainer. Wearing her signature bell-bottoms, Wilson appeared alongside the Cowboys’ famous cheerleaders and announced that a special guest would be joining her during the show.

“I am so excited to announce that I have partnered with The Salvation Army to love beyond the holidays and make a difference in our communities year-round,” she said in the video.

Wilson’s path to the top of country music wasn’t easy. While she received the Academy of Country Music’s 2024 Female Entertainer of the Year award and took home Best Music Video of the Year in addition to Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2024 CMAs, Wilson has faced repeated rejections over time.
