Walmart Changes Diversity Policies, Moves Away From 'Woke' Initiatives After Talks With Robby Starbuck

Walmart has announced changes to its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, joining other major companies that are moving away from the so-called “woke up“Initiatives.
After discussions with anti-progressive activist and filmmaker Robby Starbuck at X, who had planned to publish content about Walmart’s policies, the company agreed to implement several changes. This includes removing certain products aimed at young people and reassessing the funding of Pride events to prevent inappropriate content from reaching children.
The retail giant has made it clear that these adjustments have been under consideration for several years, independent of its dialogue with Starbuck.
In a communication with FOX Business, Walmart confirmed plans to change its market monitoring and grant review processes. They have already removed certain items that violate their policies, including chest binders marketed toward children. As the company continues to support Pride celebrations, it will consider funding community events more carefully.
The company has decided to complete its Racial Equity Center, which began as a five-year program in 2020. They will also stop using terms like “LatinX” and “DEI” in official communications and instead emphasize the “belonging” of everyone involved.
Following companies like Ford and John Deere, Walmart has withdrawn from the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index, which assesses organizations’ LGBTQ+-related policies and practices.
Walmart acknowledged it was aware of Starbuck’s planned video and maintains its policy of avoiding political commentary. The company expressed its commitment to evolving alongside its diverse customer and employee base across America.
Starbuck believes these changes are significant, underscoring Walmart’s position as America’s largest employer and noting that these changes will impact both suppliers and the company’s culture at large. He remains committed to continuing his campaign against what he describes as “wokeness” in society.
