Andy Reid delivers big injury news for Isiah Pacheco and Charles Omenihu in Week 12

Kansas City Chiefs fans got some good news this week when running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive end Charles Omenihu were activated from injured reserve. Both players are returning from leg injuries, so fans were wondering if they would be active on match day.

Still, there was some speculation that Pacheco could play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Omenihu did not receive the same speculation.

The injury report was closely monitored throughout the week to see how active each player was in training. Both Pacheco and Omenihu had limited attendance on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

That was to be expected given his injuries. Unfortunately, the Chiefs have already ruled out both players after practice on Friday.

While this was the most logical outcome for the two, it’s not what many were hoping for. Instead, they expected one of those two guys to come back against the Panthers.

As mentioned above, Pacheco was the player many thought he could play. That’s because if Pacheco was able to return this week, he would have been able to get back in easily and it wouldn’t have been a big deal.

The Panthers are not a good football team, so the Chiefs should be able to handle them easily. That would have completely exonerated Pacheco.

Instead, Pacheco will be reintegrated into the lineup in a more competitive game, which isn’t the best scenario.

Although neither player will return this week, they will return in the coming weeks, likely as early as Week 13 against the Raiders.
