Tim Matheson played Otter in Animal House and Vice President John Hoynes in The West Wing, but those are just a few credits in a long and illustrious Hollywood career.

Matheson just released his new memoir “Damn Glad to Meet You – My Seven Decades in Hollywood” and it is full of insightful stories. Matheson joined us on the I-95 Morning Show on Thursday (11/14/24) for an in-depth interview to talk about his years in the film industry and the new book. That was our most beautiful moment.

Lou: This book is great, it’s pretty insightful, okay I won’t waste any time, you slept with Kirstie Alley!?

Tim: “Hahaha, Kirstie and I were good friends, yes.”

Lou: If I understand the story correctly, Tim sleeps with two women one night, then goes home, calls Kirstie Alley, she comes over, he sleeps with her, and then his out-of-town girlfriend comes in bed with Kirstie, is that right?

Tim: “Yeah, yeah, I didn’t call Kirstie, she called me because we were friends. You know, she said, “Hey, I want to come over” and I said, “Okay, come over” because it was the night before my birthday and I was just minding my own business, staying home and having several friends came by and wished me a happy birthday. Unfortunately, I destroyed the good relationship I had with my girlfriend from New York and it was a big lesson I learned in my life.

Lou: I’ll give the glass half full and say you had a fantastic evening and a great story.

Tim: “Hahaha!”

You can listen to our full three-part interview with Tim Matheson below.

Part 1 – Tim spoke about his time on The West Wing and his relationship with actor John Spencer, who played Leo McGarry.

Part 2 – Matheson spoke about John Belushi staying clean on the set of Animal House.

Part 3 – Tim tells a story about Rob Lowe stealing his nanny.
