Black Friday is here. To find the best deals in each category, follow all of our Black Friday coverage.

Maybe you’ve already noticed: we’re leaving hard Black Friday coverage in the Strategist. It’s arguably the best day (or more accurately, week) of the year for sales, so we’re doing our best to make you aware of it very the best. Each of our writers has spent hours sifting through thousands of deals and rounding up the best in their field, including fashion deals, beauty deals, real estate deals, tech deals and more. We also scoured the deals at mega-retailers like Amazon and Nordstrom to find the best deals, and we found what’s worth buying at some particularly good deals, including Lululemon and Sephora.

Suffice it to say, we found almost every good Black Friday deal. But for those who prefer a short list of the absolute best deals in each category, we asked each of our writers to name the three deals they think are the most worthwhile. You’ll find their picks below, but we’ve also created a link to their detailed roundups if you’d like to see all the deals they found.

Daly has been rounding up the best Black Friday deals for a few weeks now (since they start well before Black Friday these days), so she’s had time to compare them all and pick her absolute favorites. These include the biggest discount she’s seen on Naturium products all year, a cashmere hat now $26 that was a popular holiday gift last year, and the just-released Kindle Paperwhite e-reader with wireless charging.

The Black Friday fashion deals are truly numerous — Pardilla has already found over 100 deals from over 20 Strategist-approved retailers — but her top deals from her list are all cozy and under $30. A pair of Free People shorts at Nordstrom are at the top of her list because “You never See what’s available at Free People for $14.” Also included: the cherry red Old Navy sweatpants, which are the platonic ideal of a good pair of sweatpants (comfortable, affordable, and with pockets) and Everlane’s Air Long-Sleeve Tea, which she describes as light and layerable, but not to thin.

Corsillo has been the strategist’s toy expert for over half a decade. So if anyone can find a good deal on a good toy, it’s her. Of the several dozen Black Friday toy deals she’s found so far, she recommends the Rainbow Veil from Sarah’s Silks, which costs just $8 and is a toy your child will use for years to come; a 300-piece bag of Mega Bloks, a construction toy set she recommends in her guide to the best gifts for 1-year-olds; and Kavi, the 2023 Girl of the Year doll, because American Girl dolls almost never go on sale.

You don’t have to line up in person at Best Buy to score a great Black Friday tech deal – now you can score discounted laptops, vacuums, and video games from the comfort of your own home. Jeremy Rellosa has rounded up the best tech deals this year, but right now his favorites are a pair of AirPods 2 at the lowest price available always been, an expert-recommended Dyson vacuum cleaner for more than half off and Rellosa’s favorite fitness tracker for almost 40 percent off.

There are several worthwhile discounts in the Black Friday Beauty Deals section, whether you’re buying gifts for someone else or just stocking up on essentials. Dyson’s Supersonic hairdryer – Denton-Hurst’s favorite – is currently available at its lowest price of the year. Necessarie’s body products are also a better deal than usual, currently offering a 25 percent discount. And if you’re ready to browse, you can find some Aesop and Le Labo items for 30 percent off on Net-a-Porter.

The best kitchen items to buy on Black Friday are things that are “essential to cooking well and more easily, day after day and for years to come,” says Wartzman. All three of these items do just that. Global makes Wartzman’s favorite chef’s knife. The following set contains it along with a bread knife, a serrated utility knife and a paring knife. “Trust me: These are all the blades you’ll ever need,” she says. The Staub dishes are great workhorse bakeware—and they’re over 60 percent cheaper. And Made In’s skillets “are some of the highest quality I’ve ever had the pleasure of cooking meals in,” says Wartzman.

Of the 64 (and counting) Black Friday home deals Schwartz found, three stand out: Our best overall sofa at the lowest price ever; the Little Green Bissell, our best portable carpet cleaner that’s never a bad buy when it’s on sale; and a shower curtain from one of our favorite brands, Quiet Town, at a significant 60 percent off.

There are tons of great sheet sets, blankets, and pillows on sale, but if you’re just looking to buy one bedding item this Black Friday, Ro recommends splurging on a comforter. “Duvets — especially down-filled ones — are expensive, but they’re one of those capital items you won’t regret buying,” she says. Some are currently up to 30 percent off, which is a savings of around $100 or more. Ro suggests one of the three brands below, all Strategist-approved brands.

Mattresses go on sale frequently, and often at roughly the same discounts—but that doesn’t mean this year’s Black Friday mattress discounts aren’t worth it, says Jerden. No matter what type of mattress you’re looking for, you’re sure to find a good option on sale. But there are a few above-average discounts, including Parachute’s Eco Comfort mattress, which rarely goes on sale and is never 30 percent off, and our favorite latex mattress at 40 percent off—a good deal on an otherwise very expensive mattress type.

Now is the best time to buy a vacuum cleaner online, says Druckman. That’s why we’ve dedicated an entire post to finding the best Black Friday vacuum cleaner deals. Since Druckman herself is in the market for a new vacuum, her favorites are all the models she’s considering—all half price and strategist-approved.

If you’re on a strict budget for Black Friday shopping, start here: Goertzen rounded up the best Black Friday deals under $50. The three she’s considering for herself are a few more of her favorite boxy white T-shirts, cereal bowls from Vancouver-based Fable that she plans to add to her existing dinnerware collection, and a cordless handheld vacuum from Strategist-approved brand Eufy.

Cyber Week is perhaps best known as the time to get your holiday shopping done – at a discount. However, if you don’t already have a list of gift ideas, Guo has put together a list of the best Black Friday deals that would make great gifts for anyone on your list. For the kids, Guo suggests “putting a classic, cuddly teddy bear under the tree,” like this large 17-inch teddy bear, which costs almost half off. For adults there is currently a 30 percent discount on the wireless portable lamp from Hay at Design Within Reach. Guo says it would be “a practical and design-focused gift for just about anyone.” And for “that special someone (or just yourself)”: Choose jewelry from Studs, where everything is 30 percent off and already discounted models are an additional 30 percent off.

Mega retailers like Amazon are a good first stop on your Black Friday journey because they have this tons of the products offered and usually flexible return policies if you change your mind. The biggest disadvantage, however, is that there are literally thousands of offers to sort through. So Pariso sifted through them to find the ones that are actually worth your time. Her favorite finds include the TheraFace Pro skincare device, currently marked down to $100, as well as gift items like a Bluetooth speaker and Starface’s cute pimple patches.

Nordstrom is another great one-stop-shop retailer and their Black Friday sale is reliably good. Griffiths, who has covered many Nordstrom sales, found the best deals in every category — women’s fashion, men’s fashion, home furnishings, beauty and more. But her top three picks are a $200 Le Creuset Dutch Oven, the cashmere beanie readers bought in droves last year, and a basic t-shirt bra from one of our favorite underwear brands, Natori.
