This weekend will see the coldest air of the season

SO TAKE OFF THE HEAVIER JACKETS WHEN YOU’RE GOING, ESPECIALLY THIS WEEKEND. So the fourth day looks like this. Highs will now remain in the low to mid 50s through Sunday, with plenty of sunshine. However, once we get to next week. Take a look at the lows from Monday to Tuesday. THIS NIGHT DEEP. Certainly got into hard freezing territory. So it will be a cold weather period for us. And right now it looks to be mostly dry throughout our four day and week forecast. We only see a slight chance of a few showers midweek across western North Carolina. A cold weekend is in store for upstate South Carolina, with even colder air heading in early next week. Friday will be clear and colder. Highs of 51 degrees but feeling like the 40s. Saturday will be windy and very cold, with wind chills in the 15 to 20 degrees in the morning. Saturday and Sunday will be dry and cool, with highs in the 40s and lows below freezing. Hard frosts are likely from Sunday night into next week as the cold air persists. Some snow is possible in the mountains north of Asheville Saturday through Sunday.
