Eli Manning congratulated Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart after he passed the school career passing yards mark during the Rebels’ home game against Mississippi State on Friday.

Dart entered Friday with 10,070 passing yards, just 49 behind Eli Manning (10,119). He topped Manning after hitting Jordan Watkins for a 17-yard completion with just under five minutes left in the second quarter.

Dart finished Friday with 143 passing yards and a touchdown on 14 of 24 attempts, giving him 10,213 yards for his career. Ole Miss also defeated Mississippi State to finish the regular season 9-3 (5-3 SEC).

Manning played at Ole Miss from 2001 to 2003 before a 16-year career with the New York Giants, winning two Super Bowls. Most recently, he was named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

His passing yards record stood for two decades, but that has now fallen after Dart got the job done in his final regular season game. However, Manning’s passing touchdown record (81) is still safe. Dart is second on this list, with 67 at Ole Miss entering the Egg Bowl.

The senior won’t be back in 2025 as his college eligibility expires, and it’s possible Dart will skip a bowl hamlet. The B/R NFL Scouting Department currently ranks him as the sixth quarterback and 55th overall prospect in the Class of 2025.
