Jennifer Lopez celebrates first Thanksgiving since divorcing Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez is grateful to her fans this Thanksgiving.

In the early hours of Friday, November 29, the singer and actress, 55, posed with a large turkey in the kitchen for a Thanksgiving snapshot shared on Instagram, in which she smiled while looking off-camera.

In the photo, Lopez wore a floral-embroidered sweater, statement earrings and her hair tied in a high ponytail.

“I hope everyone had a nice and happy Thanksgiving. I am so incredibly grateful to all of you. 🧡,” she captioned the picture.

This year marks Lopez’s first Thanksgiving since she filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, 52, in August after two years of marriage. The separation date was listed in the documents as April 26, 2024.

Affleck spent Thanksgiving with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52, while the couple volunteered at the Midnight Mission’s annual Thanksgiving Street Fair and served meals to the homeless community in Los Angeles.

Every Thanksgiving, the nonprofit “hosts a celebration for thousands of individuals and families experiencing homelessness on Skid Row,” its website says, adding that the event includes a holiday meal and live entertainment.

“They really enjoy giving back to their community and cherishing time together as a family,” a source told PEOPLE about Affleck and Garner’s outing.

Affleck and Garner — who separated in 2015 after 10 years of marriage before finalizing their divorce three years later — appeared to be in good spirits as they posed for a photo shared on Instagram with the nonprofit’s CEO, David Prentice.

The ex-partners, who have children Violet Anne (18), Seraphina Rose (15) and Samuel (12), quickly put on the matching Midnight Mission aprons.

Their outing came after a source told PEOPLE this week that Affleck planned to take a break from filming his upcoming film REST IN PEACE He was with his buddy Matt Damon over the holidays so he could spend some quality time with his kids.

The insider said: “He is very happy with life. He likes to work. He’s going to spend Thanksgiving with his kids.”

Earlier this month, a source told PEOPLE that Lopez is still keeping in touch with Affleck’s children amid the divorce.

“Jennifer is fine. She doesn’t think about the past,” the insider said Atlas Star. “She is so grateful for everything she has. The divorce is still being worked out.”

The source added: “Jennifer remains in touch with the Affleck kids. Her whole family loves her. She wants them to know that they are always available if they need anything.”
