Friday brings fog and a slight chance of rain, and caution is advised for sailors

Happy Thanksgiving, Central Coast!

Thursday was a beautiful day to be out and about, it was a little chilly in the morning but the temperature was perfect for training for all the Turkey Trots. If you were one of the attendees, I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving morning!

We expect similar conditions through the end of the week, with temperatures reaching the high 60s and low 70s on Friday.

There will be patchy fog and offshore winds on Friday, but the bigger change will be increased cloud cover. We could see an outer band of storms in the Pacific bringing a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. If anything, we’re talking a few raindrops with more cloud cover. Nothing compares to the recent storms we saw a few days ago.

We also have a minor craft advisory for the East Santa Barbara Channel from Point Conception to Point Mugu, including Santa Cruz Island, ending at 10 a.m. Friday.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

High pressure will develop over the weekend, bringing dry and sunny weather for a stretch. This weekend, temperatures could reach as high as 70 degrees on Sunday with mostly clear skies. Another great weekend on the Central Coast and a great time to shop on Black Friday!
