Arctic invasion brings wind chills into the 30s across Central Florida. Find out when here

ORLANDO, Fla. – The parade of cold fronts has begun. The first to cross Central Florida Friday evening will bring temperatures slightly lower while producing scattered showers.

Scattered showers are expected to continue throughout the evening.

Rain on Friday

Late Friday evening and especially overnight, expect skies to clear quickly as cooler, drier air moves in.

The weekend will be mostly sunny and much cooler with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Morning temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will fall into the 40s and lower 50s.

A secondary front crossing later Sunday will bring a blast of Arctic air back to Central Florida.

The wind will cool on Monday

Highs will be in the 60s Monday through Wednesday. Some areas northwest of I-4 will have difficulty breaking 50 on Tuesday.

The coldest mornings of the group will be Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures dropping into the 30s and 40s.

Wind chill on Tuesday

Taking wind into account, it will feel like the mid-30s across most of Central Florida.

Wind chill isn’t just a number to make it seem colder than it actually is. When there is wind, the heat generated by your body is pushed outwards, leaving you exposed to the cold.

Wind chill explained

The stronger the wind, the lower the wind chill factor.

Wind chill is an apparent temperature and only applies to living things. Inanimate objects such as pipes are not affected by the wind.
