Could the CU Buffs be in the Big 12 Championship?

DENVER (KDVR) – There are several football games on Saturday that could determine whether the University of Colorado Buffaloes make it to the Big 12 Championship game.

Depending on how five other teams perform on Saturday, the Buffs could face Dr. Pepper Big 12 Football Championship 2024.

Scenarios for CU’s participation in the Big 12 Championship

As of Saturday morning, six teams are in the running for the Big 12 Championship: Arizona State University (6-2), Brigham Young University (6-2), Iowa State University (6-2), University of Colorado (7-2) . ), Baylor University (5-3), Kansas State University (5-3).

According to the Big 12, there are a few scenarios in which the Buffs would make it to the big game, including:

  • If BYU loses, Texas Tech wins, Baylor wins and Cincinnati wins, the Buffs will face Iowa State in the championship.
  • If BYU loses, Texas Tech wins, Baylor loses or Cincinnati loses, the Buffs will face Arizona State in the championship.

Two of those games have been completed and CU is still a contender for the championship game. Texas Tech defeated West Virginia 52-15 and Baylor defeated Kansas 45-17.
