They say if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life, but I feel like that saying doesn’t take the holidays into account. While I’m sure Tom Brady is enjoying his first stint on Fox’s commentary team and looking forward to continuing well into 2025, there’s a downside to the high-paying contract he signed. The NFL doesn’t take a break on Thanksgiving and Fox The OT The crew was just happy enough to bring it to the MVP’s attention on live television, to which the internet responded with excitement.

As a longtime veteran of the NFL, Tom Brady was undoubtedly aware that Thanksgiving is one of the few holidays where teams rarely have time off. Still, he played the role of shocked commentator when it was told to him on Fox The OT that he would have to be in the cabin that day while people were eating turkey. Check out his reaction via Complex Sports:

I could Let’s say Tom Brady’s biggest regret of the year was signing his contract and having his vacation canceled, but I’d bet he probably still regrets that Netflix roast more than anything else. In any case, there is no shortage of reactions to his latest live TV moments on Instagram. They range from those who play him the smallest fiddle of sympathy to those who are genuinely sympathetic about his need to be in the locker room for the Giants vs. Cowboys game. Take a look:

  • Imagine missing Thanksgiving to cover the Giants vs. Cowboys 😂😂😂 – @trayg_54

  • The look every new employee gets when they find out they have to work all holiday – @fastmaddy

  • Not only does he have to work, but it’s the Giants vs. Cowboys game with two backup QBs. Bro is in hell with $50 million 🤣 – @zachswa

  • Look into his eyes in the picture… that man is gone – @le_truey

For readers who are not very familiar with the world of football, Tom Brady is expected to referee the game between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams will be playing with backup quarterbacks after former Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones asked for his release not long ago and Dallas QB Dak Prescott was recently out for the season and undergoing surgery must undergo. In short, it could be an extremely sloppy, low-scoring game between two backup quarterbacks.

More about Tom Brady

I’m not sure what Tom Brady will think of this, but if I had to guess, the paycheck he gets for it would certainly help. Brady will continue to be remembered for his words on the broadcast after fans wondered whether he would be punished for his critical attitude towards the referee weeks ago. As the new minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, he must follow special rules to avoid losing some of his money to fines.

If it’s any consolation to Tom Brady, he’ll have a break for Christmas. Netflix secured the rights to stream NFL games this holiday, and father-son duo Ian and Noah Eagle will be the play-by-play commentators for the two games taking place that day. This means TB12 has plenty of time to sit back and count all the zeros in his bank account or whatever rich people like him do in their free time.

Tom Brady will be there for those who want to watch the NFL on Fox on Thanksgiving Day starting at 4:30 p.m. ET. He may not be spending the holidays at home, but he will definitely be in my living room this holiday!
