Bob Bryar, former drummer for My Chemical Romance, dies aged 44

(WGHP) – Bob Bryar, the drummer for the rock band My Chemical Romance from 2004 to 2014, has died. TMZ reports. He was 44.

According to TMZ, Bryar was found dead in his Tennessee home on Tuesday after being last seen alive on November 4th.

Bryar first joined the group in 2004 after meeting them while touring with The Used. He then played drums on the 2006 album The Black Parade, the group’s best-known album.

He also wrote songs for MCR’s 2010 album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, but left the group before its release.

To date, he remains the longest-serving drummer in MCR history.

In 2020, he performed at a memorial service for and wrote about the late Rush drummer Neil Peart, sharing a heartfelt anecdote about their friendship.

In the years since his departure from the group, Bryar admitted that he has had suicidal thoughts several times since leaving MCR.

A cause of death was not announced; However, foul play was ruled out as Bryar’s weapons and musical equipment remained untouched in the house.
