Boise State ends the regular season with a 10-game series and is aiming for the Mountain West title

Boise State ended its regular season with a 34-18 win over Oregon State on Saturday as the Broncos hosted another sold-out game at Albertsons Stadium.

The No. 11 Broncos improved to 11-1 and finished the season with a 10-game winning streak.

“I’m proud of my boys. If we can find a way to win, we will continue to get the best from everyone. We knew without question that we would get the absolute best from Oregon State today. We have to earn the right to go then. “Take it easy and do our best,” head coach Spencer Danielson said.

Running back Ashton Jeanty carried the ball 37 times for 226 yards and a touchdown, breaking Boise State’s single-season all-purpose yards record set by Jay Ajayi. Jeanty also set a new Mountain West record for rushing yards in a single season.

“Ashton Jeanty is built differently, but that’s how he trains. Come in and watch him in the training room. I mean, this man lives in the training room preparing his body for performance week after week. And that’s very unusual,” Danielson said.

Quarterback Maddux Madsen contributed 232 total yards and three touchdowns. He opened the scoring with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Austin Bolt, capping the Broncos’ longest scoring drive of the season, lasting more than seven minutes.

“I think Maddux Madsen did a great job today. He led our offense, stayed in the fight, made throws, even stuck on a few drops or a few things that weren’t going our way,” Danielson said.

The sellout crowd of over 37,000 fans marked the fifth largest attendance in the history of the Boise State program.

“Bronco Nation, we’re going to need every bit of this and more for the championship game a week from now, no matter who we play. Bronco Nation, the best fan base in the country. We love you. We need you,” Danielson said.

The players expressed their appreciation for the home atmosphere.

“It’s been great for us all year, on defense, on offense, just paying attention to the attitude and saying, wow, man, this is really, really the best atmosphere I could ever have. That’s why I’m really grateful,” said Ahmed Hassanein.

Boise State will now turn its attention to next week’s Mountain West Championship Game.
