Colorado head coach Deion Sanders puts the world on notice by sending the Buffs’ three-time rookie to a win over Oklahoma State

Travis Hunter has turned heads this year as perhaps the most dominant two-way player since Colorado head coach Deion. What many don’t know, however, is that the Buffs have a three-way player.

The best part? He’s just a redshirt freshman.

Travis Hunter’s performance this year was unprecedented. Coach Prime noted that he probably “won the Heisman” during his press conference on Friday. The two-way athlete has little competition on this front; With the exception of Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, who probably won’t even come close to Hunter despite a harrowing record.

But a new threat has emerged in Hunter’s shadow: Colorado’s premier three-point player, Isaiah Hardge; who flew a little under the radar this year, but is undoubtedly a name to remember.

The redshirt freshman, who was recruited as a wide receiver, saw significant snaps at receiver, corner and special teams in the Buffaloes’ 52-0 victory over Oklahoma State.

This raises several questions: First, will Coach Prime continue to allow Hardge to play on three sides of the ball? We saw Travis Hunter struggle with fatigue in his Heisman season, so adding a third aspect to this game could cause even more problems.

Additionally, will Hardge rise to the challenge and become the next Hunter after being drafted No. 12? It’s widely assumed that Hunter will be an incredibly high draft pick this year, if not the first overall pick, so these are incredibly big shoes to fill.

However, if anyone can do it, it’s a candidate recruited by Coach Prime.

Although Hardge is currently just a footnote in a press conference, he is certainly a name to remember. The redshirt freshman still has many years ahead of him and no shadow to live under.
