TNT broadcast the Los Angeles Lakers’ showdown with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Cup.

Phoenix beat its Western Conference rival 127-100.

Kevin Durant scored 23 points for the Suns while LeBron James scored 18 for the Lakers.

But Barkley had apparently decided in his selection that both men should move higher.

The postgame show “Inside The NBA” began with Barkley being mocked by fans.

A tweet was posted on the screen claiming he had fallen to 0-6 in his selection.

Host Ernie Johnson tried to introduce his co-stars to television viewers.

Johnson and Barkley were joined by Shaquille O’Neal and guest Jalen Rose, who filled in for Kenny Smith.

But Barkley was still seething with the ridicule of fans mocking his selection.

“Is it my fault that LeBron is a bum?” he laughed.

Shaq “hopes something can be arranged for the future of Inside the NBA,” but insists he was neither upset nor frustrated by the decision

“Everyone did a good job except LeBron. Is it my fault that LeBron can’t score 25 points?”

“You may be the best scorer in NBA history, but you can’t give me 25 points?”

Johnson intervened and pointed out that Durant also didn’t score 25 points.

“There are two bums,” Barkley said. “You can’t get me 25 points.”

Chuck then tried to get Shaq on board.

New rights agreement

The NBA signed an 11-year deal with three networks for the league’s rights beginning in the 2025-26 season.

And for the first time since the channel launched in 1988, there will be no games on TNT.

The Walt Disney Company will continue to present the league with 80 regular season games on ESPN and ABC.

They will also show approximately 18 first and second round playoff games, a Conference Finals series for 10 of the 11 years, and remain the home of the NBA Finals.

NBC will return as an NBA broadcaster for the first time since 2002.

The network will broadcast up to 100 games per season across its channels and the Peacock streaming service.

It will also be home to the NBA All-Stars and show approximately 28 playoff games from the first and second rounds.

NBC will show a Conference Finals series for six of the eleven years, alternating with the new channel Amazon Prime.

Amazon is showing 66 regular-season NBA games, including one on Black Friday.

The streaming service is also home to the final stages of the NBA Cup and the entire play-in tournament.

Prime will also broadcast around a third of the first and second round playoff games.

“Can you believe this, Shaq?” he asked.

“These two guys can’t get me 25 points and I’m a bad player.”

But Johnson interjected, telling Barkley: “You’re 0-6, you’re a loser.”

Inside The NBA reached a deal to save the show, even though TNT lost rights.

Starting next season, it will be licensed to ESPN and continue with its current stars.
