Fans rally around Dolly Parton’s family after devastating loss

Fans are rallying around Dolly Parton and her family following the death of her brother David on Friday, November 15th.

“My brother David passed away peacefully this morning,” Dolly’s sister Stella Parton shared on X. “It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one, but he has been given his angel wings and is now at peace.”

While Dolly has yet to post anything on her own social media feeds, fans flooded Stella’s post with messages of support.

“I am very sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences to your family,” one X user commented. “My family extends our deepest condolences and prayers to your family,” another X user wrote. “Sending lots of healing hugs to you and your family,” someone else remarked.

David Wilburn Parton was 82 years old when he died. Although his cause of death was not revealed, his purpose in life was.

“My brother David was always referred to as ‘Sweet David’ because of his kindness, loyalty and gentle demeanor. He was also a US Marine,” Stella continued in her tribute post.

Naturally, this mention sparked even more support from fans near and far, with many repeating “Semper Fi!” in her comments section.

According to the obituary published on Farrar Funeral HomeDavid spent his life working on bridges. At the time of his death, he was a retired bridge builder and living in White Pine, Tennessee.
