Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson declares for the 2025 NFL Draft

Iowa Hawkeye running back Kaleb Johnson has announced he will forgo his senior season in the black and gold and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. The junior from Hamilton, Ohio, announced the decision on social media Sunday evening. “This decision was not made lightly, but I embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead with great excitement and anticipation,” Johnson wrote. “The foundation I built here at Iowa prepared me for this moment, and I carry the Hawkeye spirit with me as I move forward.” In three years as a Hawkeye, Johnson totaled 2,779 rushing yards on 508 carries ranked seventh in program history. That year, he set the school single-season record with 21 rushing touchdowns in a season. He is fourth in the country with 1,537 rushing yards this season. Johnson is also a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, given to the country’s top running back.
