Kansas City Chiefs stats and milestones for Week 13 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs are back in action at home this weekend, with the Las Vegas Raiders set to face them for the second time this season. Getting another win (and thereby securing a spot in the postseason) remains the top priority for Andy Reid’s team, but several players can also make a splash with big performances.

Let’s take a look at some of the most intriguing stats and milestones that are within reach for the Chiefs in Week 13.

Despite being Kansas City’s starting quarterback for less than a decade, Patrick Mahomes already owns several franchise records. He can score another score on Friday by throwing just one touchdown. With the score in the air, Mahomes can break his current tie (237) with Pro Football Hall of Famer Len Dawson for the most hits in franchise history. After scoring a passing touchdown in each of his last five games, Mahomes is likely to reach new heights in Week 13 and set the record in front of a home crowd at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Another week, another chance for Travis Kelce to pass Tony Gonzalez for the most touchdowns as a member of the Chiefs. At 76, Kelce can break that tie in Week 13 if he finds the end zone. Additionally, he is still 16 points away from tying longtime Kansas City running back Priest Holmes for the most points as a non-kicker in franchise history. Finally, just 13 yards after the catch, Kelce passed a wideout to Steve Smith Sr., making him the fourth-most pass catcher in league history. Last weekend he surpassed Larry Fitzgerald against the Carolina Panthers. There’s a lot at stake for Kelce along the way, and the good news for him is that once he checks off that Chiefs-specific box, he’ll soon be aiming for NFL immortality.

After recording 15.5 sacks in 2022 and 10.5 sacks in 16 games last year, All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones has been a bit quiet in that category this year. He only played in three to 11 games, all of which came in either Week 1 or Week 4. Friday marks two months since he last had a sack. However, if he can add a half-sack or a full-sack in Week 13, he will pass Justin Houston for fourth place for the most possessions in Chiefs history. Jones still has some work to do before equaling Neil Smith (86.5), but he can start by finally returning to quarterback after a long lull.

When Trent McDuffie played in the slot last season, he showed a newfound ability to rush the passer, recording three sacks and nine quarterback hits during the regular season. His move to the edge full-time has lost some of that ability, although he has recorded a half-sack and four quarterback hits in 11 games. If the former first-round pick records two sacks on Friday, he would be tied for the most by a cornerback in Kansas City history. Considering he’s only 24 years old, that would be a huge accomplishment for one of the better defensive backs to play for the team in recent memory.
