‘NBA is a joke’: Chaos ensues as Jaylen Brown begs referees to avoid foul play penalty

The United Center witnessed the Chicago Bulls valiantly trying to hold off the Boston Celtics. There seemed to be no concrete winner until midway through the fourth quarter. The combined attacking arsenal of Nikola Vučević and Zach Lavine helped them rally from a 13-point lead and turn the game around. The shamrocks have been tested. And Jaylen Brown, the reigning Finals MVP, decided to set the tone with a statement.

With both teams refusing to give up any leeway, Brown saw his chance to attack the ring. Payton Pritchard’s screen left the entire left side open and the three-time All-Star lowered his head. Jalen Smith of the Bulls jumped up with Brown. Most of the time this only ends one way. The Celtics shooting guard shook the rim and stared down the middle.

He then performed a ceremony that looked like Brown was buckling up his seatbelt. There is nothing unexplainable here, but rather what happened shortly afterwards.

When play returned after the timeout, the referees appeared to question Jaylen Brown about his celebration. The 28-year-old could be seen explaining his celebration to the officials in what appeared to be his ticket out of a technical issue. Luckily, Brown wasn’t considered a technical player and the Celtics used his emphatic dunk to quickly decide the game.

Jaylen Brown didn’t have an efficient night, but still scored 21 points and 4 assists in the nine-point win. Jayson Tatum energized the team with a game-high 35 points and 14 rebounds, his eighth double-double of the season. But their star tandem faded before their 6’2″ sixth man. Pritchard scored a 19-point explosion in the fourth quarter to shift the momentum and ensure the Shamrocks kept their NBA Cup hopes alive.

Jaylen Brown had no problem explaining his dunk to the officials. The reason for the interaction remains unclear. However, even NBA fans suspect that this may have been done to avoid punishment. After seeing several atrocious technicians, they didn’t appreciate this side of the game. One fan said it wasperfect example of why today’s NBA is a complete joke.

The Celtics are no strangers to soft technical fouls. Just ask Jayson Tatum. In their final NBA Cup game, the Celtics ace used the rim to ensure he didn’t land dangerously after a dunk. This led to the officers blowing their whistles and making the “T” sign with their hands. Luckily, Brown was able to avoid it.

However, that did not stop fans from criticizing such actions by the referee team. Donating technicians to parties is ridiculous, they are adults haha,, A fan wrote about it. Tatum couldn’t agree more. After his technical foul last week, he didn’t shy away from emotion in the post-game press conference. “Maybe they want me to just let go and fall on my back.”Tatum told reporters.

Instead of finding such incidents upsetting, some fans see them as an opportunity for humor. One of these viewers had a special request. Key and Peele have to do an NBA referee skit,, they suggested. Famous for her comedic skits, fans are hoping to get a parody of NBA officials soon.

On the other hand, they also saw how Brown could make his case. Brown: “I just got paid to be a referee. Don’t do this to me.”,, one fan imagined. After signing a lucrative five-year, $303.7 million contract extension, a fine for such a celebration would be insignificant for the Celtics guard. But it would be worrying to have to accept a fine for celebrating one of the most exciting performances of the season.
