Iowa’s next game: Saturday, December 7th vs. Tennessee, 6 p.m., in Brooklyn, NY

What you should know: These will be Iowa’s first two ranked games this season. The Hawkeyes were the first team among “others receiving votes” in the first three polls.

The first meeting between the Hawkeyes and Rhode Island takes place on Thursday. Iowa and BYU have played three times (most recently in 2006) and the Cougars have won all three times.

Rhode Island has won its last two games, including a 63-58 win over Brown on Saturday.

Six Rhode Island players are averaging at least 8.0 points per game, led by Harsiman “Honey” Kaur with 10.1.

BYU is the second of Iowa’s three Big 12 opponents. The Hawkeyes defeated Kansas (71-58) on November 20th and hosted Iowa State on December 11th.

The Cougars won their first five games, then suffered a 67-60 loss to Northern Colorado on Saturday.

Delaney Gibbs tops BYU with 17.3 ppg.
