Steph Curry scores 23 points in the return-to-court game against the Suns

Stephen Curry was ruled out of the Golden State Warriors’ loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday due to bilateral and patellofemoral knee soreness. After missing a game, Curry’s absence didn’t last longer. Although he was initially listed as questionable, the All-Star point guard returned to the desert court Saturday night against the Phoenix Suns.

Curry opened the game ice cold against the Suns, scoring just two points on 0-for-8 shooting in the first half. After an unusually slow start, Curry recovered in the third quarter. The two-time Most Valuable Player sparked a run for the Warriors, scoring 15 points on XX-of-XX shooting from the field, with XX making 3-pointers in the third quarter. Curry sank back-to-back triples against the Suns in the third frame to cut the Suns’ advantage.

However, Curry’s third-quarter breakthrough wasn’t enough to catch the Suns as the Warriors suffered their fourth straight loss, 113-105 in Phoenix on Saturday.

Curry finished with 23 points on 8 of 21 shooting from the field, with XX scoring 3 points from long range to go along with seven rebounds and 4 assists in 32 minutes against the Suns.

Curry is now averaging 22.4 points in 14 games this season while shooting 47.5% from the field and 44.4% from distance.
