Donald Trump wished everyone a happy Thanksgiving, including the “radical left-wing lunatics who worked so hard to destroy our country but failed miserably.” Since entering politics, the president-elect’s combative holiday messages have become something of a tradition.

The president-elect claims to have had a “wonderful” conversation with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum a day after she published a scathing open letter to him about migration, fentanyl trafficking and tariffs.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that Sheinbaum had agreed to “stop migration through Mexico,” which would “effectively” close the southern border.

The Mexican president corrected this report on X: “We reiterate that Mexico’s position is not to close borders, but to build bridges between governments and between peoples.”

Meanwhile, at Mar-a-Lago, Trump hosted Mark Zuckerberg for dinner, just months after the president-elect threatened to throw the meta-boss in prison if he tried to interfere in the election.

Stephen Miller, who was tapped to be Trump’s deputy chief of staff for policy, confirmed the meeting to Fox News. A Meta spokesperson said Politically that Zuckerberg was “grateful” for the invitation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday praised U.S. President-elect Donald Trump as an experienced and intelligent politician, but said he did not believe Trump was safe following attempts on his life.

Trump was injured in an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania in July. In a separate incident in September, a man was charged with attempted assassination after he allegedly positioned himself with a rifle at one of Trump’s golf courses in Florida.

Speaking to reporters in Kazakhstan after a summit, Putin said he was shocked by the way the US election campaign was going.

He referred to “the absolutely uncivilized methods in the fight against Trump, including an assassination attempt – more than once.”

“In my opinion, by the way, he is not safe now,” Putin said.

“Unfortunately, various incidents have occurred throughout the history of the United States. I think he (Trump) is intelligent and I hope he is careful and understands that.”

Putin, who is himself heavily protected, said he was even more shocked at how Trump’s family and children were criticized by political opponents during the US election campaign.

He called such behavior “disgusting” and said that in Russia even “bandits” would not resort to such methods.

Putin spoke about what he called the Biden administration’s decision to escalate the war in Ukraine by allowing Kiev to attack Russia with Western missiles, speculating that it could be a ploy to target Trump either to help by giving him something to push back on or a way to create his life with Russia became more difficult.

Either way, Putin said he expected Trump to “find the solution” and said Moscow was ready for dialogue.
